Coronado Dons Band Boosters
 

The Coronado Dons’ Band Boosters were incorporated as a non-profit organization in September 1983.  The Band Boosters is a group of involved parents and interested community members who are committed to enhancing the band experience for the students and promoting an awareness of the value of music and the arts in the education process and who want to ensure the best possible Fine Arts program and specifically a top notch Band program developed and maintained at Coronado High School in Scottsdale, Arizona.  To this end the Booster organization has supported the band program by raising funds to supplement the district funding targeted for the Fine Arts at Coronado.  Money raised by the Band Boosters helps pay for entrance fees for competitions, busses and trucks to transport students and their equipment to and from competitions and away performances, purchase of music and drills for the marching show, purchase and repair of instruments as needed, salaries for auxiliary and supplemental staff, assistance with tuition for students and instructors to participate in developmental training, and other needs as they arise.  Coronado High School draws students from a diverse area of Scottsdale with a wide range of ethnic and economic backgrounds.

Announcements

Click here it see the Approved 2011/12 Band Booster budget.  The 2011/12 Band Booster Budget was voted on and approved at the Band Booster General meeting 7:00pm, 2/22 at the Coronado Band Room.


Band Booster meetings are held at 7:00PM, the second Monday of every month, at the Coronado H. S. Band Room.
Band Booster E-Board meetings are held at 7:00pm, the fourth Monday of each month, at the Coronado H. S. Band Room (unless indicated on the band calendar).  All band parents are welcome to attend these meetings.

Arizona State Tax Credit

Did you know that the Arizona State Tax Credit can help you pay for a large portion of your band activities?  For example, SUSD has ruled that 100% of Band Camp can be paid for with Tax Credit money.  And you don’t have to be the only one taking advantage of the tax credit.  Print out several copies of the Tax Credit form from the band website and take it to your friends, neighbors, or relatives (not necessarily in that order).  They can contribute the maximum based on their tax status and designate your Band student or the Band program as the recipient.  Then when filing the Arizona State Income Tax for 2010, the money comes back as a direct credit to the amount of taxes owed.  It’s simple, it’s painless, and everyone can feel a little better about paying their income tax.

Don't wait until it is too late.  Make your 2009 tax credit donation now.  Donations must be made by 12/31/2010 to apply towards the 2008 tax year.


Help our Uniform Moms!

If you would like to help the band, but are not able to give of your time, please consider donating any of the following items to the uniform department:

- Febreze spray
- Safety Pins
- Inexpensive stream iron
- Mr. Clean Magic Erasers (for cleaning shoes)
 

Items can be given to any band booster or to Dr. Bennett.  Please mark them as donation to the uniform department.
Thanks you to the Cluff/Benavidez Family who graciously donated 2 rolling garment racks for the uniform room!  Thanks to Kay Wiese for the generous donation of a Clothing/fabric streamer!
