Potluck Picnic February 2nd at Eldorado Park

The Boosters are holding a potluck picnic for band students, their parents and families

on February 2nd from noon to 3 pm at the East Ramada at Eldorado Park.  Supai 8th grade band students and their families are also invited.  The East Ramada is a large ramada that is located close to 77th Street. (see www.scottsdaleaz.gov/parks/eldo.asp)  It has a sand volleyball court and restrooms located directly adjacent.  Food responsibilities are as follows:

Freshmen students and their families: Drinks and Cups

Sophomores and families: Desserts

Juniors and families: Side Dishes/Salads

Seniors and families: Main Dishes

Boosters will provide paper plates, plasticware, napkins and ice.

BACH will be coordinating the recreation activities

 

Fundraising Update

It’s tax season again.  Did you make a tax credit donation in 2007 to reduce your state income taxes?  Good going!  Do it again this year and encourage friends and family members to do it also.  Remember, single persons can receive tax credit for up to $200 in donations and married persons filing jointly can receive up to $400 in tax credit.  Donations should be made at the Coronado Bookstore and earmarked for the Coronado Bands.  Fees for the 2008 Spring Trip and 2008 Band Camp can be paid in the form of a tax credit donation.

 

Albertson’s – Be sure to use your Albertson’s Community Partner card every time you shop at Albertson’s.  If you need a card, see Doc.

 

E-scrip – Go to www.escrip.com and register your Safeway card, VISA, MasterCard and American Express and other cards to earn cash donations to the Band Booster organization.  Our group ID is 148935400 (Coronado Dons’ Band Boosters Inc.)

 

Other Important Stuff

Spring Trip 2008 – Don’t forget that the 2nd payment of $140 for the trip is due on January 25th.  Final payment ($140) due on February 29th.  The band leaves for San Diego on Thursday, April 17th at 11:00 am and will return on Sunday, April 20th at 7 am.

 

Band Camp 2008 – The tentative dates for camp are July 28th – August 2nd.  The Mingus Mountain site will not be available at that time so Doc and the Boosters are searching for another appropriate site in a cool climate.  Updates will be provided when available.
