Francine
Porter motioned to accept the December minutes. Ella Bristow seconded. Motion
passed. There was no correspondence.
Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer’s Report was presented.
Nathan Porter motioned to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Mlee Martineau
seconded. Motion passed.
Fundraisers:
Great Video Productions: The replacement check has arrived and
cleared.
Mardi Gras Day: This fundraiser was held
There was a Yard Sale on February 9-11 at the home
of Bob and Becky Ingram. A total of $347.00 was made for the Boosters. Thank
you to the Ingrams, Kathy Hermanson and everyone who helped with this event.
The vendor of
the Coupon Books, Academic
Advocates, has reported that they are going out of business. They will honor
our contract and follow through with our coupon book as planned. Greg will
donate 500 books free of charge. All of the coupons will be valid through March
2008. We expect the proof to be given to Francine tomorrow for approval.
Time Share: The Boosters are registered for the
Timeshare fundraiser. We need to provide a W-9 form to the organizers to
proceed. Becky Ingram will obtain the form and send it in. The Marriot is the
only resort participating. Couples must have combined annual salary of
$75,000.00 to participate. Each couple receives $100.00 (given to the Boosters)
for a 90 minute no-obligation presentation.
The Boosters
will hold a Flower sale at the
Coronado/Supai Concert on March 5th. Francine Porter will buy roses
from Costco and sell them to parents and family members to give to their
students following the concert.
Business:
The band Uniforms need to be cleaned as soon as
possible.
The Boosters
have one rifle available to be given for the David Sampson Award to previous years’ Guard members. The award is
given each year to a deserving Color Guard member in honor of a former member
who lost his life in a tragic auto accident. Plates for mounting onto rifles
will be ordered for 2 past recipients who have yet to receive their awards at a
cost of $15.00 to $20.00. A plaque will be ordered with the three recipients
names engraved at a cost of $125.00. Bob Ingram will finalize the orders and
solicit donation of 2 more rifles.
Spring Tour:
The tour is 2 weeks from today. A Tour Packet will be issued to each
student on Friday. The packet includes an itinerary, packing list,
conduct/behavior expectations, room assignments, etc. There are several forms
which must be signed and returned before the trip. Deadline is March 7th.
Students are expected to pay for some of their meals, as explained in the
packet. They will be responsible for their own money unless arrangements are
made allowing a chaperone to hold and distribute the funds.
Band Camp: The Mingus Mountain Camp has not
received a contract from the
Becky Ingram
motioned to adjourn the meeting. Ella seconded. Motion passed.
