E-Board Meeting Minutes

Announcements:

 

Secretary’s Report: None. Minutes from last E-Board Meeting are posted on the website.

 

Treasurer’s Report: None

 

Fundraisers:

 

Gold Rush:  Gold Rush brought in $237.56.  We had a small turnout, but could be better if we want to do it again. Jim at Curves paid for the fliers and postage.

 

Need to send a thank you to Adam Johnson’s church for donation made.


Business:

 

Budget

Budget help – need to include $1000 for truck rental.
Need to consider purchase of second podium for other drum major.

 

Boosters to pay for CHARMS program.  BACH was to pay, but having trouble getting approval for payment.  Doc asked if we could just get it.  We will go ahead and order.  Will consider purchasing a hand scanner to facilitate inventory for the uniforms at a later date. 

 

Budget Considerations: 

$11227.66 left in account

Shelving promised by district may not come through due to budget cuts.  Mrs. {Powers has asked us to consider setting aside funds for wardrobe boxes or temporary racks or shelving.  May check into purchasing materials and building something ourselves.  Problem is we are getting new uniforms, so we will need storage for new and old uniform, concert dresses, tuxes, and accessories.  Will ask Mrs. Powers about specs for building something.  Mlee will check with Mr. Biera.  If Ok, we will get volunteers to build.  Possibly donations from Lowes?  Could be done for $1500. 

 

Built tentative 2009-10 budget for vote at Band Booster Meeting in February.

 

Car Show: Tentative date May 16th.  Dave Hockstrosser from Coronado Foundation for the Future to coordinate for us.  Bob Ingram will work with him as co-organizer.  Need to look for auto related vendors for giveaways, donations, etc.  Mlee will meet with Mr. Olson and Mr. Biera for approvals.  Need to amend vote to change to May 16th.  May be another event that day.  Will check.

 

Supai Band Recruiting: Not much encouragement from the Supai Band Director for 8th graders coming to Coronado next year.  Current CHS kids went to Supai today.  Suggested meeting with parents and prospective students at a picnic or BBQ to provide information and encourage participation.  May try to tie in Spring Band Concert in April.

 

 

Upcoming Activities:

Musical is scheduled for Feb 5, 6 and 7.  Choir is selling water and flowers.  We will sell coffee.
