E-Board Meeting Minutes

December 29, 2008

Announcements:

 

Secretary’s Report: None. Minutes from last E-Board Meeting are posted on the website.

 

Treasurer’s Report: None

 

Fundraisers:

 

Gold Rush:  1/15 and 1/22 6-8:30 pm at Curves.  How to advertise? Can we hand out fliers at school?  Should we mail out fliers to parents?  Will ask Doc on Monday.  Jim at Curves will pay for the fliers.

 

Tax Credit Update: Tax Credit Checks are coming in, $600 so far.  Some have been made out to boosters.  MLee contacted the donors for another check.  Need to change tax credit form on the website to make directions more clear.

 

Still have prizes to give away.  Disneyland Tickets, Harpers GC, Harkins GC, SuperShuttle Passes, Etc.  Will try to secure more.  Will try to sell tickets and have a drawing at the band banquet or?

Need to do things that the kids can get involved in.  They need to be able to earn monies for their accounts.

Possible other ideas include:  Golf tournament, Paintball


Business:

 

Student Accounts: Still have not received update of student accounts from Kathy H.  She has been out of town.  MLee will talk to Kathy and find out when she can obtain this information.  We have account balances, but not the source of the outstanding balances.  We need to resolve this, since budgets need to be prepared and presented for approval in February.  Also, need 2008 Actual Budget to help with preparation.

 

Band Camp: Band Camp may be a problem due to funding.  Money has to be in the account before trip approval.  When does the deposit need to be in?  Which account does the money have to be in?  By what date?  How do we determine number of students to plan for?  All of these questions need to be answered before the Band Booster meeting.

 

 

8th Graders: Plan to get 8th grade student and their parents involved now.  Will talk to Doc and Supia Band Director.  Will try to put together a slide show of previous band activities to show parents.  When does the middle school close their classes?

 

 

Upcoming Activities:

Pizza Party for Trumpet Section, possible on Friday at Melinda or James’ house.
