Secretary’s Report:  (Posted on the website)

The minutes from the September meeting were unavailable. The secretary reported that a letter was sent to Albertson’s thanking them for donating drinking water for the recent marching competition.

Treasurer’s Report:

There was no Treasurer’s report.

Fundraisers:

A. You can still participate in the Simple Fundraiser resort/timeshare presentation. Qualified couples attending a sales presentation earn money for the Boosters and gift cards for themselves. Participating resorts include The Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Sedona Pines Resort in Sedona and Sunterra and Myan Palace Resorts in Rocky Point, Mexico.

Coupon Books:  Francine offered coupon books for sale at Homecoming game. No sales were made. There are still coupon books available. The expiration date for the coupons is 3/31/08. All money earned is divided between the Boosters and the student; students get 100% of money for every book sold over twenty.

Sodexo: Sodexo has requested our help for the fall ASU football concessions. We have offered to do a food stand. Students and their families earn money for their student accounts by helping serve food at ASU home football games. Games are 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/13, 10/27, 11/22. We will also help at the Insight Bowl on 12/31/07. A minimum of 6 people are needed per game. Check in time is usually 4 pm. Workers must wear khaki pants, a white shirt and closed-toe shoes. For information or to sign up, contact Becky Ingram at 480-947-1820.

Home Football Concessions: For Coronado home football game concessions, we are working with the PTO and the Football Boosters. The arrangement is going well, each game netting $900.00 plus.

Community Partners:  Although the chain no longer requires shopper’s cards, Albertson’s tells us they will continue to offer the Community Partners fundraiser. There are new cards which will be made available soon.

Scottsdale Fall Festival: The city is holding their annual Fall Festival on Halloween night at El Dorado Park. The Boosters have been approved to set up a stand selling popcorn and cotton candy. Cost will be $1.50 for each. We have been asked to be set up and ready by 5 pm. The Festival is over at 9 pm. Volunteers are needed.

Business:

Minds in Motion: $300.00 was donated by the Boosters to the Minds in Motion academic recognition program held October 1 at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.

Polo Shirts: Many Booster members have inquired about Booster T-Shirts. Bob Ingram contacted Alex, who we have worked with in the past. He can get red or blue shirts for $27.50 each including tax and embroidery. It will take 4-6 working days to deliver the shirts once we place the order. Bob will bring order forms Friday and Saturday. Doc wants to order blue for the staff. Minimum order is 12. An order form will be distributed to parents.

Storage Unit: Bob Ingram checked to see if we could permanently place a cargo storage unit on campus to allow us to end our use of the paid off-campus storage unit we are now using. He found a company that will sell us one for $2200.00 including paint, leveling and installation. We would add interior shelving. The unit would give us easier access and cost less in the long run. Waiting for OK from Mr. Biera.

Dues:  Dues are due. Voting members must pay tonight.

Nomination Committee: Nominations for the 2008-2009 Executive Board are complete and listed on the website.

Banderama: The annual Banderama night will be on 10/26. This is the night the Dons Band hosts the elementary and middle school bands from the schools which feed Coronado. The combined bands perform at halftime. Teachers at participating schools will collect $3.00 per student which we will use to but pizza and water for the event. We will need help setting up for serving the pizza. We will use the tables in the courtyard.

Events: The Band will be performing at away football games 9/28 at Glendale High and 10/12 at Tempe High.  The Mountain Pointe Marching Invitational is 9/29 and the Gilbert Marching Festival is 10/13.

Spring Concert Tour: Doc is looking for trip possibilities for Spring with the help of BACH. Also looking for a site for the Winter concert since the Auditorium will not yet be complete.

Uniforms: The marching uniforms have been cleaned. Mastel is generously cleaning them for $3.00 each. There are still students who have not paid their cleaning fee.

Ella Bristow motioned to adjourn the meeting. Mlee Martineau seconded. Motion passed.
