Booster Meeting Minutes

Treasurer’s Report: None

Doc received a check from Wal-mart for about $700.00. Not sure what it is for!

 

Fundraisers:

 

Sale of Generator/Balloon Machine :  Details of the sale of our generator and a balloon machine will be posted on Craig’s List.

 

Community Partners:  Although the chain no longer requires shopper’s cards, Albertson’s will continue to offer the Community Partners fundraiser. There are new cards which are available from the Band Boosters or from Doc Bennett. Rewards earned from store purchases go to the Band Boosters.

 

Graduation Water and Flower Sales: Graduation is 5/28/08 and the Boosters will sell bottled water and long-stemmed roses. We will set up at 5:00 pm and will probably set up 2 locations to reduce traffic.

 

Business:

 

Band Banquet/Awards Ceremony: The Band Banquet will be 5/20/08 at 6:30 pm at the LDS Church. It will be a pot-luck dinner, Boosters will supply dessert and drinks and tableware. Cost is $15.00 per student payable to Doc or at the door. Fee covers costs of awards. Some have pre-paid. Bob I motioned not to turn away students who have not paid and who do not pay at the door. Mlee M seconded. Motion passed. Francine ordered the engraving, Doc made the certificates and he has the letters. We need help setting up tables at the church at 3:00 pm.

 

Storage: Bob I sent inquiry to school administration regarding storage availability. Still no response. We are trying to gain access to storage on campus that was originally designed to house the pit carts (they are not used anymore, but were rolling carts that held drums, keyboards, electric cords for the pit section of the percussion section). They were included in the design of the new school, but we have no access to locked areas without a key from a member of the administration. This would be difficult for Boosters, who typically need access in hours outside of school operation.

 

Band Camp: Band Camp has finally and officially been approved. Packets were sent out to students last week. It contains a new form regarding tax credit which must be completed. All packets must be turned in by May 22, 2008 with 1st payment of $90.00. Packing list and final details will be sent out over the summer.Chaperones will pay $247.00 for lodging, meals and t-shirt. The camp deposit has been sent.

 

 

Mlee moved to adjourn the meeting. Alicia seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
