Treasurer’s Report: (Posted on the website)

The Treasurer presented a revised report for the year.  Bob I. motioned to approve The October and November Treasurer’s reports. Keith M. seconded. The motion passed.

Fundraisers:

Coupon Books:  There are 250 coupon books available. The expiration date for the coupons is 3/31/08. They will be offered for sale at the Winter Concert for $10.00 each. We will need change.

Flower Sales: Francine P. will buy flowers that will be offered for sale at the Winter Concert.

Sodexho: The Boosters are still working the ASU football concessions. Students and their families earn money for their student accounts by helping serve food at ASU home football games. There is one game left, the Insight Bowl on 12/31/07. A minimum of 6 people are needed per game. Volunteers are still needed and they must obtain a photo I.D. by December 16th from the Sodexho office at Wells Fargo Arena. Workers must wear khaki pants, a white shirt and closed-toe shoes. For information or to sign up, contact Becky Ingram at 480-947-1820.

Community Partners:  Although the chain no longer requires shopper’s cards, Albertson’s will continue to offer the Community Partners fundraiser. There are new cards which are available from the Band Boosters or from Doc Bennett. Rewards earned from store purchases go to the Band Boosters.

Candy Bar Information: Nathan P. investigated candy bar sales for both Sees Candy Company and World Famous and presented his findings. Due to District rules, we would not be allowed to sell candy on campus.

Other Fundraisers: BACH will be selling Luminarias. There is a flyer/order form on the website. Payments can be mailed and will be sent to the Booster P.O. Box. Nathan P. will make an announcement at the Winter Concert regarding tax credit donations. Donations should be mailed or taken to the bookstore or given to Doc Bennett. Be sure to specify Coronado Band, Student Name and I.D. and Spring Trip. Doc Bennett provided info about a fundraiser at Desert Mountain HS: they have earned a substantial amount of money from Frys Food Stores with their shoppers card link. Costco may be another possible source. We will look into it. We need other ideas for student fundraisers.

Business:

Donation: Bob I. motioned that we make a donation in the amount of $100.00 for the 2 year-old daughter of Chris Rainer, the Mesquite HS Assistant Band Director who died recently in a tragic auto accident. Ella B. seconded. The motion passed.

Pot Luck Picnic: Nathan P. suggested that the Boosters host a pot luck/picnic for students and parents. We want to have something fun and non-threatening to get to know new parents and get them involved. We may also invite incoming Supai students and their parents. We would not be able to hold it at the school, so will look into renting a Ramada at El Dorado Park.

Status of Financial Issues: Antonio Hernandez, our Percussion Instructor and writer of most of the Marching Band Drill, has not responded to email concerning the fees we owe him. We were waiting for that info to determine the amount of money available to compensate other staff members, Stevie Hagel (percussion) and Ruthie Krause (Guard). Bob I. Motioned that we go ahead and pay Ruthie and Stevie $800.00 each. Keith M. seconded. Motion passed. That will leave $1400.00 in the staff account to pay Antonio.

Spring Trip: The Spring Concert Band Trip will be April 17-20, 2008. A deposit has been made. The trip is expected to cost each student $420.00. The band will be traveling to San Diego, CA for a competition and will visit Sea World, the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum and the Hard Rock Café. First payment is due 12/20/07 in the amount of $140.00, which can be given to Doc to hold as the bookstore will be closed. Please note that the price could go up if gas prices rise, and also if more than 55 people go, which would require renting a second bus. The chaparones have been approved.

E Board: There will be no December E Board meeting.

Storage Container: There is no update.

Other: The new Auditorium will be ready for move in sometime in January, pending inspections. Dedication will be in March.

Keith M. motioned to adjourn the meeting. Kathy H.. seconded.
