Treasurer’s Report: None – expect update at next meeting

Fundraisers:

Sale of Generator/Balloon Machine :  Details of the sale of our generator and a balloon machine will be posted on Craig’s List.

Community Partners:  Although the chain no longer requires shopper’s cards, Albertson’s will continue to offer the Community Partners fundraiser. There are new cards which are available from the Band Boosters or from Doc Bennett. Rewards earned from store purchases go to the Band Boosters.

Tax Credit: Encourage every family to take part in tax credit donation.

Disneyland price package:  John Komlos has  applied for 2 tickets to Disneyland park as part of a program for non-profit organizations. The tickets have been granted and will be provided 2 weeks before our planned fundraising event. He was also able to secure Supershuttle passes (both ways) and will work on getting airfare donated. The Miller Family will donate Hilton points for a hotel stay. This would be grand prize package.  Francine P motioned to hold a December fundraiser dinner at which this and other prizes would be awarded. Mlee M seconded. The motion passed. The dinner will probably be off campus, possible Flicka’s or Outback Steakhouse. Challenge to members- come up with one donation. Nathan P will check with Flicka’s for dinner or donation.

Other Fundraisers: Dina Nemet has come up with a list of fundraising ideas. Will table to discuss at September meeting.

Business:

A.  Boosters 101

1.       General explanation of Booster organization and what it does (see handout)

2.       Website – www.donsband.org – great source of information, calendar, photos

B. Storage Locker Move: Since new construction at the school, Boosters have been paying to store items at Storage Solutions on McKellips Road. We are now able to move items into on-campus storage. The move will take place Saturday 8/16/08 at 7:00 am. Anyone who can help should meet at locker #123 to move the items to the school.

C. Concessions: Nathan P and Bob I will meet with the administration tomorrow for discussion about home football concessions. Boosters have handled all concessions in years past. Now we have new concession stand and have been asked to share with PTO and Football Boosters. County has required us to obtain a permit and make the stand meet county health code. It does not meet the code now due to lack of required hand-washing sink, three part sink. These were included in original plan but never installed. Boosters have paid for the permit, must get permission for sink installation.

Kathy H motion to adjourn, Mlee M seconded. Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm.
